Growing a Not-For-Profit R&D Operation

The independent not-for-profit, research & development (R&D) organization can contribute materially to the welfare and security of our populace. It is like a for-profit organization in the sense that it must operate in an effective mode and therefore has many similar operational characteristics. This paper succinctly summarizes important general operational elements, such as, income streams, principal business concerns, return-on-investment, business cycle, and principal tools.
