High Power Density, Arc Ignition Test

This paper reports the development of a new test to rank insulations in regard to their ability to withstand direct contact with electric arcs. One of the main advantages of this test over those previously used or reported is its ability to rank materials which have a very high arc resistance. Another is the consistency of results upon test replication.
