Micro-Particles Production in a Uniform Field Vacuum Gap with Solid Dielectric Spacer

Results are presented of the collection and analysis of micro-particles released by the application of a dc voltage to a bridged vacuum gap. It is shown that particles in the size range 1-5 pm are released from both anode and cathode at stresses as low as 10% of the flashover voltage.
