Human computer interactions at decision making and knowledge acquisition in computer aided process planning systems

Decision support tools bring great advances to computer aided design and planning systems. However, this evolution reveals new aspects of the human-computer interaction and causes new problems too. The authors investigate the human-computer interactions at knowledge acquisition and planner interfaces of manufacturing process planning systems. The effect of knowledge-based problem solving procedures is taken into consideration. The adaptation of the concept of intent-supporting of the human-computer interface in the domain of process planning is studied.<
