Simulation-aided short circuit risk evaluation for circuit breakers in HV substations

The application of a probabilistic method of circuit breaker failure evaluation is described. A simulation model based on the Monte Carlo method and a specially built computer program are presented. Conclusions are drawn from the results of risk analysis made for a selected part of the Polish power system.<
