Some considerations with regards of using the FD-TD method to analyze microstrip passive circuits

The dispersive boundary condition (DBC) and the autoregressive method (AR) are combined. This results in a much more practical finite-difference time-domain (FD-TD) algorithm. It is shown, by solving a typical microstrip filter problem, that the FD-TD method can be used to solve such problems very effectively and accurately. Using the AR model can greatly reduce the CPU time requirement of the FD-TD method while giving accurate results.<
