A methodology of human factors analysis for systems engineering

This paper discusses how the problem of handling human erroneous behaviour can appropriately be studied by a methodology that comprises four modelling phases, namely: (1) a paradigm of human behaviour; (2) a taxonomy and related tables for human erroneous actions; (3) the evaluation of the correlation with the real working environment; and (4) the procedure for applying the methodology to different types of analysis and at different levels of complexity. While the first two elements have been described somewhere else, this paper focuses on the connection of the taxonomy with the real working environment and on the application procedure.<
