Modelling of charged aerosols under pulsed corona

The pulsed corona has been promoted as an improved means for the precipitation of "rebel" powders, especially of high-resistivity dusts. The paper presents the role of the space-charge field in pulsed corona precipitators. The numerical simulation confirms that the pulsed energization offers superior advantages in the optimization of precipitation process and shows how the energization parameters optimization must be conducted to avoid back-corona and field-reversal. The theoretical study also shows that the characteristic parameter for all the dispersoids (and especially for the "rebel" ones) is the equivalent specific surface.<
