Using CAE/CAT tools to evaluate power supply parasitics

Computer-based techniques are developed for determining the values of the parasitic components which influence the transfer function of most power processing circuits. The techniques are straightforward and numerical examples are given. While a magamp post-regulator is used as an example, the general function is similar for most types of power converters, and the techniques developed for determining the values of the parasitic components can be used for any type of converter topology. The model can also be used for evaluating other parameters of the design such as transient load response or output impedance.<
