A genetic adaptive algorithm for data equalization

A technique for adjusting the coefficients of adaptive IIR equalizing filters using a genetic algorithm is presented. This technique is shown to be able to significantly reduce the intersymbol interference and noise created by imperfect communications channel transmission characteristics.<
