Some issues in "blind" array calibration

We consider the problems of direction finding and signal "COPY" with uncalibrated arrays. A number of calibration techniques have been proposed, which attempt to jointly estimate the signal directions or waveforms, and a set of unknown array parameters. We discuss several issues related to the accuracy of these techniques, and the number of signal and array parameters which can be estimated with a given number of array elements.<
