A new millisecond pulsar observation system at CRL

The Communications Research Laboratory (CRL) has developed an unique system using an acousto-optic spectrometer for precise timing measurements for millisecond pulsars. This system can treat a signal of 50 MHz bandwidth, have a frequency resolution of 200 kHz and a time resolution of 13 /spl mu/s, and average 2/sup 24/ pulses without dead time.<
