Joint optimization of transmitted pulse shape and receiver timing in digital systems

The paper determines the combination of transmitted pulse shape and receiver sampling time that maximizes the magnitude of the channel output pulse sample. The method is easily implemented with a processing chip at the receiver and relatively little information feedback to the transmitter.<
