Simulation of large distributed DC power systems using averaged modelling techniques and the Saber simulator

An averaged model of a distributed DC power system including averaged power supplies and loads has been developed for the space station electric power system and can be used for both transient and small signal simulations. Averaged models run very quickly and do not require excessive computer resources relative to switching models. A small signal analysis can be done at any time during the transient analysis. A method for the construction of averaged models of converters with current injection control, voltage mode control and averaged current mode control is also presented. The Saber simulation program is a flexible, robust circuit simulation tool that can be used on extremely large models.<
