Comparison of the use of simple space transient and finite element analysis for linear induction motor calculation

The paper is concerned with the analysis of linear induction motors. It compares the use of an early simple space transient analysis with finite element modelling using the A/spl psi/ method for 3D problems and the Minkowski transformation for moving conductor regions. Special attention was paid to the effect of the geometry of the trailing edge of the machine.<
