Large scale wake-fields calculation using Kirchhoff's integral equation

This paper presents a three dimensional time dependent boundary element analysis for wake fields in a particle accelerator cavity. In particular, large scale problems (or complex shape boundary problems) are treated here. Generally speaking, time dependent problems require less storage memory than static or steady state problems for the same numerical model, when the finite difference method or the finite element method is applied. This paper points out that the same aspect exists in the boundary element method and shows the analysis of a wake field accelerator as an example of large scale problems.<>
