An intelligent symbol usage assistant for CAD systems

The Augurs (Assistant for Using Graphic Symbols) program embeds a neural network for symbol recognition in a commercial CAD system (the US Army Corps of Engineers' MicroStation). The goals are to accelerate the drawing process, maintain drawing consistency, and, most importantly, attach symbolic information to graphic entities so they can be analyzed and communicated across platforms.<
