Synthesis of ferroelectric Pb/sub 1-x/Ca/sub x/TiO/sub 3/ single crystals

Ferroelectric single crystals in the Pb/sub 1-x/TiO/sub 3/ system have been grown by using the PbO flux method. The maximum volume of the crystals is a function of the Ca concentration and decreases with increase of x from about 60 mm/sup 3/ at x=0 to 0.05 mm/sup 3/ at x=0.3. The lattice constant of the a and c axes decrease with increase of x. The Curie points linearly decrease from 487 degrees C at x=0 to 478 degrees C at x=0.1, depending on the Ca concentration.<
