The group properties of the algebraic Riccati equations

In this paper some group properties of the algebraic Riccati equation are discovered. These priorities allow us to get brief and simple substantiation of using matrix-sign function method to solving Silvester (and Lyapunov as a particular case) equation. Also some computational aspects of matrix signum calculating are discussed, and some numerical tests' results are represented.<
