Local maintenance supporting system

Unmanned telephone offices in the NTT system are supervised by the advanced power plant integrated maintenance control system (ALICE). The effectiveness of ALICE is limited in the event of power equipment failure, since maintenance personnel cannot monitor the operation of power equipment on multiple floors without calling a regional maintenance center. To overcome this problem, NTT has introduced a local maintenance supporting system for power plant (LAURA) to supervise, test, and control all power equipment at each unmanned office. The system configuration, characteristics, hardware and software are described.<
