Generalized H/sub 2//H/sub infinity / control via convex optimization

The authors consider the problem of finding an internally stabilizing controller that minimizes an upper bound on the system gain (from L/sub 2/ to L/sub infinity /) of a closed loop map, subject to an inequality constraint on the H/sub infinity / norm of some other closed loop map. The main contribution of the present work is to show that global solutions to this class of multiobjective synthesis problems may be found by solving a finite-dimensional convex program.<
