Deadbeat control problems of multivariable continuous-time systems

The deadbeat control problem of continuous-time systems is considered. The control objective is to settle the error to zero in finite time and hold it zero for all the time after that. S. Urikura and A. Nagata (1987) solved the problem for sampled-data systems, i.e., in the sampler-hold scheme. In the present work, the authors consider the same problem for (not sampled) continuous-time systems with continuous controllers. It is shown that the problem is solvable even in this setting, and a method is given for obtaining a controller which achieves deadbeat control of a given continuous-time system.<
