Partial discharges on power capacitors

The author presents a laboratory method for measuring the partial discharges (PDs) on full-size power capacitors used in a network. The PD testing facility, the method considered to be convenient for high capacitance equipment, and the measuring techniques are presented. Tests were carried out on industrial all-film power capacitors. Results of PD measurements before, during and after endurance tests according to the EDF standard are presented.<
