Suppression of static electrification of insulating oil for large power transformers

The results of various studies on insulating-oil characteristics performed in Japan are summarized. The development of a charge-measuring apparatus and method of suppressing charging tendency by BTA (benzotriazol) additive are discussed. Field data obtained on a transformer over three years indicate long-term reliability.<
