A single-handed braille chord system for computer keyboard input

This invention is a system for input to computers using only one hand. It uses a single-handed chord system that is based on Braille and compatible with the BAT chordic keyboard. Use of the system provides the advantages of single-handed input; the speed, accuracy and repetitive strain injury protection of chordic keyboards; chords that are analagous to standard braille cells; and access to the full ASCII character set. The system should be beneficial to any computer user who wants efficient single-handed input, and especially those that are blind, have use of only one hand, or are concerned about repetitive strain injuries. It can be used for input to the Macintosh, to PC compatible computers or to Unix-based systems.<
