A software engineering tool for expert system design

The properties of design tools for expert systems are identified. A design tool is presented for constructing production-type knowledge bases that provides a straightforward methodology and adheres to these properties. The use of decision tables in software design is discussed, and a modified table that can be used for the present application is presented.<
