'A' for effort (technology transfer education)

An experiment conducted at Carnegie Mellon University in using students for technology transfer is described. It consisted of sending six students who has completed their sophomore studies in CMU's Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering to visit semiconductor firms in the summer of 1990. They took with them AWEsim, a CMU-developed circuit simulation program. Although the idea of using students for technology transfer won the endorsement of all the participants, reviews were mixed for the circuit simulation program.<
