IEC TC63: committee disbanded but need for standards remains

Recently, a decision was reached to disband IEC TC63, the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) technical committee on insulation systems. TC63 Insulation Systems was established in 1967 to develop modern guidelines to evaluate the capability of electrical insulation in equipment based on functional verification from services or tests. A historical review of its activities is given for science and technology historians and those whose work involves insulation systems.<
