Digital modulation in optical fibre soliton communication systems

The whole question of the feasibility of digital communications by optical fibre solitons is addressed from the point of view provided by Lagrangian approximation techniques, which are shown to be a convenient basis from which to formulate a new branch of communications theory. The nonlinear Schrodinger equation for optical fibre solitons is used as a model.<
