Robust and efficient image coding methods

Provides an overview of some recent research into image coding methods, with the aim of investigating techniques which provide robustness to transmission errors and yet which preserve the high coding efficiency of established techniques, such as the discrete cosine transform, entropy coding, and vector quantisation.<
