The United States Air Force R&M 2000 process

An attempt is made to show how to increase combat capability while saving resources through good reliability and maintainability (R&M) practices. Based on industrial and US Department of Defense successes, the Office of the Special Assistant for Reliability and Maintainability has isolated those practices which significantly enhance meeting the goals of the US Air Force (USAF) R&M 2000 initiative. These practices are integrated under the aegis of the process. The process consists of goals, principles, and building blocks all of which are discussed in a booklet entitled 'The USAF R&M 2000 Process'.<
