Working to manual ultrasonic NDT standards with a computerised ultrasonic test system

The author describes the 'P-scan' computerised ultrasonic data acquisition and recording system for use in welds inspection. The development of procedures which follow as closely as possible the requirements of BS 3923, the standard for manual ultrasonic testing of welds in ferritic steels is discussed.<
