Partitioning strategies for high order recursive filters

Presents the theory associated with the implementation of very high order (100+) all-pole filters. These are constructed from second order elemental filter/resonators, whose coefficients are derived, via linear predictive coding and formant extraction, from original recordings of acoustic instruments. Thus, when supplied with an appropriate excitation, such a filter will provide a simulation (i.e. synthesis) of the original instrument.<
