Real time holograms using ferroelectric liquid crystal spatial light modulators

The authors examine the use of presently available Spatial Light Modulators (SLM's) to record computer generated holograms, and techniques to improve the performance of the holograms generated. Simulations of a holographically routed crossbar switch are carried out, and these provide insight into the problems with such holograms.<
