Ultrathin Fe-based amorphous ribbon cores

The parameter representing the fluidity of molten alloys is introduced. The dependence of this parameter on the ternary Fe-Si-B alloy system was studied. Ultrathin Fe/sub 70/Si/sub 17.5/B/sub 12.5/ amorphous ribbons of about 3- mu m thickness were fabricated by the single roller quenching method in vacuum. The magnetic properties of cores made of the ultrathin ribbon were measured.<
