The Effect of V$_2$O$_5$on High-Frequency and Attenuation Properties for BaCo$_rm x$Zn$_2-rm x$Fe$_16$O$_27$Composites

Microstructure, static, and dynamic magnetic properties have been investigated for BaCo
$_x$
Zn
$_2- x$
Fe
$_16$
O
$_27$
(
$x=$
1.0, 1.3, and 1.5) without and with doping of V
$_2$
O
$_5$
and the corresponding ferrite/polymer composites. Experimental result showed that doping with V
$_2$
O
$_5$
can effectively modify the shape of the particles, significantly decrease the complex permittivity, and enhance the complex permeability. The composites, therefore, are potential candidates for electromagnetic (EM) attenuation materials with low reflectivity and broad bandwidth at microwave frequencies.
