A Mathematical Model for the Comparison of Static and Dynamic Memory Allocation in a Paged System

In this paper we compare the two classical memory allocation policies in a multiprogrammed system with paged memory: a static policy based on prepaging and a dynamic policy using page allocation on demand. The two policies are modeled by networks of queues.
