An environmental effects model of the simplex system and its analysis

The decision-making process involved in the design of fault-tolerant systems is predicated largely on the assumption of components failing independently and obeying the exponential failure law. That model is advanced by incorporating explicitly modeled environmental effects, by way of gamma and beta distributions. The behavior of the resultant distributions is analyzed, and the implications of these models for the multiobjective risk analytic process are discussed.<
