Smart sensors for the automotive industry

There is a growing receptiveness in the automotive market place to the principle of smart sensors. The time is now ripe to begin exploiting the benefits of bus communication, digital signal processing and fault diagnosis. ASIC's will permit the degree of integration required to control costs in production while allowing libraries of components to be assembled cheaply and easily on a workstation to give the required flexibility.<
