Note on the Determination of the Ionization in the Upper Atmosphere

The paper describes a method of estimating the distribution of ionization in the upper atmosphere. It is based upon measurements on several frequencies of the effective height as determined by interference or echo experiments. The latter two types of experiment are shown to give identical results.
