Pre code and test process

The purpose of the pre code and test process is to ensure a stable program design language and supporting data dictionary from which the subsequent unit code may be built in a timely fashion. A major derivative of the process is the formulation of code and test metrics, providing unit test criteria to be used during testing. The process establishes an empirical frame of reference, rather than a theoretical one, invokes careful observation, and indoctrinates a discipline of patience and attention to unit detail. Computer time and most malfunctioning logic, bad arithmetic, imprecise calculations, and outdated constants are reduced to a minimum. The process contains six distinct templates: Design, Data Element Usage, Interfaces, Program Design Language (PDL) Format and Style, PDL/Code Functionality, and Data Dictionary File. These distinct templates are structured in the form of checklists in which prompting statements of an interrogatory nature are posed.<
