Lower hybrid waves in plasmas with negative ions

The ion-ion hybrid mode, with frequencies omega approximately=( omega /sub c+/ omega /sub c-/)/sup 1/2/, is briefly analyzed for a warm plasma containing positive ions (gyrofrequency omega /sub c+/), negative ions (gyrofrequency omega /sub c-/), and electrons. Experiments with SF/sub 6//sup -/ as the negative ion are proposed.<
