HiSeasNet/spl reg/: a global network for oceanographic ships and observing platforms

HiSeasNet is a satellite communication network, which provides global Internet connectivity and data services the U.S. academic oceanographic fleet. It serves as a prototype for communications and data collection system for the planned ORION deep-ocean observing platforms.
