Study of electrical conduction mechanisms of the natural rubber through isothermal current depolarization's

In order to improve the quality and durability of the formulated natural rubber compositions for the electric insulation tools of electrically energized line, such as gloves and sleeves, available material commercially from different manufactures was deformulated and reformulated in thin films by thermo press processes, in optimized temperature and time of vulcanization. The reformulated samples have been aged under temperature and in AC electric field at 3 kHz. The electric conduction mechanism of the samples had been studied through isothermal current depolarization's technique and experimental results being analyzed through dielectric function response models using Dissado and Hill theory. Prepared samples in laboratory showed two conduction mechanisms whose parameters of the dielectric function response models involve with the aging processes. To study the two mechanisms principle of superposition to the function was applied dielectric response from Dissado and Hill theory and obtained an excellent fitting from experimental data. The obtained results can to support in one better understanding of electrical conduction mechanisms of the natural rubber composites that lead the material to the dielectric breakdown, developing better formulation of this being able to guarantee a high quality and durability of the insurance tools used in electrically energized lines. This research intends to research accurate electrical properties of natural rubber composites to be practical use in industry as electrical insulating material due a big natural resource in some developing countries and to reduce environmental impact and low price of raw natural rubber commodities.
