Design Issues of Terabit Capacity Photonic Network in Broadband Services Era

This paper highlights the design issues of the terabit capacity photonic network in the broadband services era. Power safety and energy issues are considered, as is the network restructuring needed to meet the coming changes in the characteristics of IP data traffic.
