The design of randomly rough surfaces with specified scattering properties

An inverse scattering problem is considered, namely the design of a randomly rough surface that scatters a wave or beam incident on it in a specified manner. We consider the case when the scattered field is required to have a specified dependence on the wavelength of the incident field.
