Observation of magnetic intermartensitic phase transition in off-stochiometric Ni-Mn-Ga single crystal

We report the temperature dependence of electrical resistivity and magnetization for the off-stochiometric Ni/sub 49/Mn/sub 29/Al/sub 22/ single crystal. Resistivity data give the clear evidence of intermartensitic structural transformation at /spl sim/273 K, followed by a martensitic transformation at /spl sim/341 K. Intermartensitic phase transformation is also observed in the magnetization versus temperature data.
