New method of filters design for dual tree complex wavelet transform

Designing filters for filter banks is not an easy task. This becomes more complicated and coefficients constraints appear when linear phase filters with desired number of zeros at /spl omega/ = /spl pi/ are composing the filter banks. The complexity increases more when two two-channel perfect reconstruction filter banks with subfilters satisfying the above mentioned properties and related in a pre-established way must be designed. Dual tree complex wavelet transform (DTCWT) implies such filters. Selesnick's algorithm (2002) for orthogonal/ biorthogonal filters for DTCWT is based on polynomial factorization. In this paper a new method is proposed, implying an individually treatment of filter banks from DTCWT branches.
