Improved algorithm for wavelength assignment in multifibre WDM optical networks

In recent years, wavelength assignment in WDM optical networks has obtained great significance. In this paper we have proposed one simple heuristic for wavelength assignment in multifibre networks. We have also made a comparison between the proposed algorithm and the first fit algorithm.
