Architectures and performance of fiber delay line buffers in packet-based multifiber optical networks

In this paper, we study the architectures and performance of fiber delay line (FDL) buffers in packet-based multifiber optical networks. Three buffering architectures are considered and their performance are evaluated and compared through extensive simulation.
